Time For Change...!

Change makes you better...!

As the last rays of the summer heat fade and the gentle breezes of fall hover over us, we recognize once again that change is inevitable. Nature is constantly changing, and yet many people have the idea that change is terrifying.

People are creatures of habit and some have a hard time adjusting to the changes that are sure to come our way. Life is like a pair of comfortable old shoes. We may realize that we need new ones and we may even find new ones that we really like, but we know that changing will cause us discomfort for a while until we master them.

Sometimes we must realize that life is not always easy. What may be best for us is not what we are used to, but it is certainly worth the trouble to break new habits and lifestyle changes.

Change doesn't have to be painful. Just observe nature and it will give you clues as to how easy change can be. The beautifully colored autumn leaves do not hang alive from the old tree. No, they give way to change easily and float gently off the tree.

With the arrival of autumn, we have been busy in our gardens taking out the old things and preparing for a time of rest. We know that the earth must rest and next year there will be more wonderful things in our garden to delight us.

Are there things in your life that you should gently remove from your life? Maybe there are bad relationships, habits, or thoughts that need to be eliminated from your life. Don't be afraid to do a little gardening in your own life.

Every gardener knows that unless we get to the roots, we really won't get rid of the problem. It may disappear for a while, but unless we get to the root, it will return to the garden very quickly.

Although harvest time has come, it is not the time to stop weeding the garden of our minds. This garden needs constant attention so that we can flourish and be all that we can be. The only way to keep this garden in tip-top condition is to make sure there are no weeds trying to strangle the good we are trying to do. The weeds in our minds, of course, are negative thoughts that like to creep in and keep us from achieving what we strive for.

William James said: “Human beings, by changing the internal attitudes of their minds, can change the external aspects of their lives"

How do we change the internal attitudes of our minds? Changing our way of thinking. We must leave fear and negativity behind. How do you ask? Just as fall leaves gently peel off the tree, don't try to change your mind overnight and expect instant results. We cannot get these thoughts out of our minds as much as we would like sometimes. No, we should be kind to ourselves and let positive thoughts replace negative ones.

Yes, it will take some work on your part. You must constantly fill your mind with positive thoughts. Proverbs 27: 3 says: As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. We are what we think. When negative thoughts come to mind, you must be ready and willing to replace those thoughts with positive thoughts. Tell yourself, no, I will not let that thought take over my mind, I will think positively. It is good to have affirmations available so that you can replace negative thinking with positive. It won't be easy, it won't be difficult, it will just be different, like that new pair of shoes we talked about earlier.

Autumn leaves fall to make way for new life. We too must go through changes that will bring new growth to our bodies, souls, and spirits.

Change is inevitable, so why fight it? Why be afraid of it? Yes, the change will require us to make some adjustments, but it is always worth it. Do not be afraid of change, a change will be good for you.
